Organise your sample library

Every sample you save keeps its key, BPM, mood, and tags. Use the Library tab to filter by any of those fields. Samples are stored in your cloud account (100 MB free, 2 GB Premium). The Sync button uploads anything that hasn't been pushed to the server yet.

Fastest way to find key & BPM

Drag your file onto the page — detection starts automatically. You don't need to create an account. Results show in the Key and BPM fields within a few seconds (larger files take longer). If you hear two possible tempos, check the Alt tempo value — some tracks read as half or double BPM.

Tag sections while you listen

Play the sample and type a tag (e.g. "drop", "vocal", "chop here") — press Enter to pin it at the playhead. Click a pin to jump back. This is useful for marking spots you want to cut or sample later. Guests can place up to 3 tags; free accounts get unlimited.

Cut & export clips

Switch to Cut Regions mode on the waveform to define precise start/end points. Set your clip length, then export as MP3 (free) or WAV (Premium). Free accounts can export up to 10 clips per day, max 30 seconds each. Premium has no limits.

Match a sample to your project key

Open Edit Sound in the Tagger. The detected key shows at the top. Use the Key/Detune slider (±24 semitones, ±100 cents) to shift the sample to your project's key. To change tempo without affecting pitch, set Source and Target BPM — time-stretching is applied automatically.

Find the root note

Root Note Assist runs during playback and shows the estimated dominant pitch on a piano roll with a confidence percentage. Useful when the detected key isn't enough — e.g. when you need the exact note for pitching a vocal chop or building a chord on top of a sample. Available for logged-in users (free account or Premium).

Separate stems PREMIUM

Upload a track and run Demucs stem separation to isolate vocals, drums, bass, or get the instrumental (no vocals). Processing runs on the server and may take 1–5 minutes depending on track length and server load. The instrumental stem is free; other stems require Premium.

Clean up your samples

Use Sample Cleaning to trim silence, apply a noise gate, de-click, add fades, or normalize levels before saving. Processing uses librosa & scipy on the server. Especially handy for vinyl rips or field recordings that need cleanup before you chop them.

The Sampler has 16 pads mapped to your keyboard (1–0, Q–R, A–S by default). Load samples from your library onto pads, adjust pitch and volume per pad, and trigger them live. Supports MIDI controllers via Web MIDI API. Premium users also get a 32-step sequencer.
